Couple months ago I got back from Malta - at first glance, typical island which you want to visit but it isn't in your dream list. (tricky, I know, but that's how I felt). However, just the moment you visit this beautiful place, you can truly understand how much Malta can offer. I won't lie by saying that it's the first island where I experienced South-European vibes the most. And I guess it's because of extremely blue water, creamy buildings with colored facades everywhere and tanned locals and tourists walking around.. Also the smell... The smell of seafood and salty sea water... Oh, you can't imagine how much I miss this feeling. To start travel review, we stayed in Gzira for 5 days from which you can see the capital city of Valetta across the bay and I recommend to stay in this part of Malta especially for those who love night life because there are hundreds of cafes, bars and clubs. It really gave a nice vibe and I was happy about the place we stayed. Also amazing part is that you can get from Gzira to Valetta and other places very easily with buses and ferries which station is near hotel, so everything was made easy and simple for travelers. Also we were lucky for having a balcony in 5th floor which was spacious and with fantastic view to all the yachts and streets with huge palm trees - I was more than thankful for that! We spent there almost every night drinking cocktails and listening to music - one of the best experiences. And Just the moment we had to leave hotel I made these pictures (you can see how sad I looked when I had to leave this hotel :D ) Hotel - Bayview hotel by ST hotels

Okay, now I think it's time to talk about the places that I visited and I enjoyed very much:
VALETTA
If you ever in Malta, there are no chance you wont decide to visit Capital city of Malta. And it's so worth to visit! I actually never felt so lost in so many beautiful corners, streets and everything looked more like city of culture especially for it's unique architecture and you can see some details from Malta history with England (Popular English telephone boxes everywhere).
We spent there all day and I think even one day isn't enough. That day was super windy but we didn't care and enjoyed our ice cream, pizza, sea food, visited some churches and other places you can get to in Valetta, especially so many panorama views where you can see fantastic blue water and other side of island. Ahhh, so fascinating.

BLUE GROTTO
Ohhh, I remember how excited I was when I was travelling with bus to this iconic nature place in Malta. But at the same time, travelling with bus can be tiring, so be prepared to travel a lot around and wait for buses who be late to grab you.
Luckily, views around this place are really impressive and we had some snacks so while we waited for a bus to get back, we get a chance to enjoy it twice. Also, one thing, if I get a chance to revisit, I would like to take some boat ride around the cliffs - we saw lot of them but eventually, we decided to travel in more relaxing way this time;)

Also the same day we visited DINGLI CLIFFS but however, we expected to see much more so we decided to spend less time here and explore Mdina which is very close

MDINA
If you want to ask me, if Mdina is worth a visit, I would say - YES. And I guess, that's what all the people say because the feeling there is just unspeakable. You can feel medieval feeling in every building and churches are the most beautiful. So much history and crazy how everything looks so perfect and not damaged by modern life. Also while we explore Mdina, we went to get some food in restaurant and that restaurant looked like from old ages and we sat in cellar in front of huge paintings while eating traditional maltese meal. I highly recommend to try it! Sadly I didn't make pictures of the restaurant and can't remember the name but sometimes I just feel so in to moment that I forget to take any picture.
Also Mdina is special for a lot of traditional architecture buildings which look different from Valetta because of less markets and looked a bit more "cleaner" (undamaged by environment). Besides that, like in Valetta, there are tones of cafes and panorama views, there you can see Malta island distant.

DWEJRA BAY
And last but not least, probably the most impressive place in this trip - Dwejra bay which is in Gozo island. But to get there is not that easy especially if you stay in Gzira, as I did, because, firstly you have to get to the ferry station and then from Gozo ferry station you're travelling with bus to this place which takes a lot patience to wait while buses start driving you and there are tones of people want to visit this place so my tip would be: Plan the whole day for this adventure to Dwejra Bay especially if you stay away and travel with public transportation.
Now let's take a look to this majestic place.. Nature is the best thing in Malta, even if architecture is really beautiful, those cliffs wins my heart.

So I guess that's it for this time! So many pictures made, so many memories and inspirations left in this island. Malta is really special for me right now and what this trip taught me the most is that, the less you except, the more you enjoy. And Malta is perfect for people who
are attracted with beautiful and unique architecture and nature which is at the same time impressive with lots of cliffs and smells from Mediterranean sea...
Wander in this island with open heart and enjoy what it gives! Nature and city, delicious food and friendly people - this place is perfect to relax and to explore, just as perfect for young and old travelers.
See you in next adventures, xoxo <3
I’ve always heard Malta is underrated, but your review makes it sound like the perfect island to visit. The mix of medieval vibes in Mdina, nightlife in Gzira, and the blue waters at Dwejra Bay really caught my attention.
